Meet Summer Willis

Summer Willis stayed silent for a decade after she was assaulted at a college party. Then she started running and turned her story into two world records and a Texas law that now bears her name. That's why she's our first Energy For Change Leader.

She set one of those records carrying a 45-pound mattress along the original NYC Marathon route, four laps around Central Park. The invisible weight survivors are forced to carry.

The Summer Willis Foundation

A law wasn't enough. So her organization built what no one had built for her: the first national Resource Map connecting survivors to legal, medical, and mental health care, and the Denim Run, the first national race for survivors, by survivors.

The mission was already there. It just needed a platform.
